Smile! - Click - Photographers

This is one aspect of a wedding that we always want to get right. We want the best photographers but we want them at the cheapest rates hmmm. Sometimes they say good things come expensive.

Anyways! in recent times I have been searching the internet to see if I could find wedding photographers, it has not been easy as many of them dont have online presence.

However some do. and whoa the pictures are lovely. I wish I could put them on here but I can't so I will only put a link to their websites so you can go take a look for yourself. Some of them do other things apart from weddings by the way.

Prices!

Now some of them are pretty expensive going as high as 250k but you can get some for much lesser - 70k. I would give you the ones I have found and see if I can get you an idea of what range their prices are. Its up to you to negiotiate with them for a better deal. Enjoy as we profile some photographers in the next couple of posts.

Hello! Another wedding gown

I had said I would bring to you a wedding gown that a friend recently bought through an online shop but I had forgotten.

I now bring the lovely wedding gown to you. It was reasonable priced and looked lovely one her. There was a bit of a stress getting the gown but when she finally got the gown it was worth the wait.

Nigerian wedding gown shops - please we need lovely gowns at fantastic prices.

Enjoy!

To import or not to import!

Hello everyone,

Have you ever thot "where will I get my wedding gown from"? or "hmm I have to get my gown in america or united kingdom"? I am sure a lot of people have had this thought at one point in time or the other, but some have been lucky to be able to afford such gowns while others have not.

Why do we want to import? - I think is so we can have a wider variety to choose from - afterall it is the most important item on the most important day of our lives, so we need to look our absolute best.

Well I do agree, however I think the bridal shops need to begin to step up their game, get us lovely choices at better prices. If they can be found in America, Uk then they should be available in Nigeria too.

Bridal shops, this question is to you - What arey ou doing to give us better services in a large variety of wedding gowns but not at exhornitant prices?

What would you pay for this gown?

Hello everyone,

Continuing from my last write up, I would like to ask you a simple question.
What would you pay for the gowns in this post? I think they are lovely? but what do you think and what would you think they would cost?

Please say anything on your mind, I would love to get feedback on this issue.

Am back

Am back with a bang and ready to keep you busy. I have been looking at the bridal shops and i have realised that they seem not to be enough shops to go round the people getting married. LOL

I also seem to notice that there are not so many varieties and therefore people just decide to go out of the country to buy their gowns (like i did) and a friend too just recently.

I am actually n the process of helping another friend get her wedding gown from the same online bridal shop i got mine. This got me thinking is it that the wedding shops in nigeria are selling expensive gowns or that they dont have enough variety.

Or do we simply want to get something different?

In my case I wanted something really different (as you can see) but then what would your reason be? Please let us all know.

Congratulations to the couple below

I am sorry I have been away for too long, things just seem to happen so fast that I had no time to recover and give you gist of all that has been going down.

Before I continue, congratulations to my friend who added the last post. She just delivered a bouncing baby boy.  Kudos to you my friends.

How I got my wedding gown

About three months to my wedding, I had been able to identify the wedding gown I wanted from the same site Shawla got hers and was working on how to make payments and shipping arrangements. This was after looking so hard for a 'slevefull' ivory wedding gown.

However, my story changed completely when my sister asked that I help her buy suits from a shop in Abuja, Ashers where they sell suits at wholesale rates. On my way going to the shop, I was stopped by Road Safety guys and they successfully extorted a whooping N2,000 from me. I was so angry at my sister and myself for agreeing to run the errand that I just stomped into the shop with a tightened face not even answering any greeting from the attendants.

As I walked into the shop, I noticed that wedding gowns were displayed in a new section that was just carved out of the shop. I diverted my mission and glared around the hung wedding gowns. I pointed at a gown and asked one of the sales girls how much it cost. She asked me to guess and with my nose turned up and my mind made up that the gowns will be highly expensive, I mentioned an exorbitant price. The girl then smiled and mentioned a price that was like 70% less than my guess.

Immediately, my countenance changed and I carefully looked around the gowns to see if any matched my specifics. Lo and behold, there it was, a 'slevefull' ivory wedding gown. I went to where the gown was and realised there was another customer standing beside the gown and a sales girl working so hard to convince her to buy the gown but she kept on giving one excuse after other.

I asked the sales girl for the cost of the gown and she gave me a price that was 50% less than my initial arrangement via the website. I checked the size and men….it was my exact wedding gown size, a 10!. Not minding the other customer, I told the sales girl I would like to try it on. I was helped into the gown and as the zipper was fastened, everyone around had their mouth agape. I guess I looked like the dream bride. The owner of the shop who had also come out of her office to look at the bride-to-be announced that I would get a free ball slip along with the gown because I was their first wedding gown customer……..

I made a deposit for the gown with the money meant for my sister’s suit and promised to makeup the balance by the next week. I’m sure you’re wondering what happened to the other lady. Well, she stayed back to watch the drama in the shop when I tried on the gown and as I was driving out, she came to meet me and asked if I was interested in renting out the gown since her wedding came before mine…….can you imagine.

Of course, I did not agree! Rent ko, dash ni….

Wedding gown shop in Nigeria

Hello everyone,

while looking for the best deal online wedding gown shop it occurred to me that it would not be a bad idea to have a wedding gown shop considering I seem to have a knack for finding manufacturers and suppliers of a whole range of things.

While this thot was still trying to develop in my head, i was trying to visualize a wedding shop that i have gone to that had wall to wall floor lenght mirror where you could look at your dress.

What does it take to start a wedding dress shop? Ideas please my dear friends.

What are we talking about?

Hi everyone, I have been thinking what we were going to start talking about. And i figured, why not lets start with the wedding gown. Every bride dreams of a lovely wedding dress for her wedding, strapless, flowing with a train, beads, trimmings and all.

Okay, there are lots of lovely gowns out there for you to look at until you get that one that works for you, but there are also people that make lovely custom gowns for you too. My wedding gown was bought on the internet by me and I had it shipped to me in Nigeria funny enough through EMS and I got it 10days after. I found this lovely website  while preparing for my wedding and I just loved the gown cos to me it looked really unique.

The wonderful thing about it was that it was not so expensive, however the down side was that I could not pay by myself - no credit card or anything. So I got my brother to make the purchase for me, after I told them I wanted the gown shipped to Nigeria. Now you don't necessarily have to buy abroad, you can buy in Nigeria, or you can even have it made. My next post will tell you some place you can buy from both in Nigeria and abroad and for good money too.
